Each year we raise a few pigs so that we will have some diversity in our
freezer for ourselves. We only really need 1 pig for ourselves, but they are happiest in groups.
Thus, we buy a small group of 2 - 4 piglets at approximately 40 -50 lbs liveweight from a reputable breeder and raise them
to freezer size (~250 - 300lb l.w.) each year because we do not want to eat meat that is fed GMO products, pesticides, growth
hormones or antibiotics. We offer a few pigs for sale, as whole or half, killed & processed at our preferred trustworthy
butcher. You may then have it cut, wrapped and smoked to your preference. We charge $4.50/lb on the dressed weight which includes some smoking of hams & bacon, some peameal, sausage making, chops, fresh roasts,
etc and all the associated butcher costs, but you need to put down a deposit when we get the pigs
in May or June to ensure that you hold 1 for yourself as we sell out very early!
We only feed NON-GMO feeds
to our pigs and as a result, they have been growing faster and there is minimal offensive odour from the pig pasture!
